Husband and wife team Lillie and Christopher Edgar started Edgar Design in 2014. Offering interior design, garden design, project management and sourcing, Edgar Design can help you make the most of any space, whether inside or out.

Firmly believing that design is the most important factor in the success of any space, whether inside or out, Lillie and Christopher studied at both KLC and Inchbald, two of the most respected design schools in the world.

As well as client satisfaction, their work has brought industry awards and press acclaim. Magazines that have featured their work include Homes & Gardens, Period Living, Wealden Times and Ox Magazine.

Edgar Design now operates in both England and Italy, with Lillie and Christopher moving to the Lake Como area in 2022.

Our Designers

Christopher Edgar

Chris has always been interested in architecture, gardens and design. After working for ten years in the city of London, he decided to follow his passion, switching careers to renovate properties and design gardens. He studied garden design at Inchbald School of Design, followed by horticulture at Great Dixter. This improved his creativity, decision making and planting knowledge.

Chris grew up in Northern Ireland, before moving to Aberdeen for university and studying law and finance. It was there that he met Lillie, and they moved to London together after university. They then spent over 15 years in Kent and Sussex, before moving to Italy in 2022 with their three children. Chris enjoys watching and participating in sports, and is a keen traveller and cook.

Chris enjoys both architectural interior design and garden design, and is equally at home considering the layout of a house or designing a garden. He firmly believes that interiors and gardens should reflect both their users and their surroundings. They should reflect the personality and the lifestyle of those who will use it; they should be somewhere to live, to enjoy, to relax and to entertain.

Lillie Edgar

Lillie loves interiors, design and beautiful things. Having designed the interiors of several homes over the years for her family, she decided to study interior design at KLC School of Design, and now offers interior design services alongside running her home fragrance business, Lavender & Lillie. 

Lillie grew up in the Seychelles, whilst also spending time in her youth in India. She moved to Aberdeen for university, studying French, Management & Finance, and then did a further degree in International Law in London before working in wealth management. She has travelled extensively in Europe and Asia. Exposure to all these cultures and their different visual aesthetics has given Lillie a unique insight into interiors and design.

Lillie now lives near Lake Como with Chris and their three children. She is passionate about art, antiques and reading contemporary literature.

Lillie’s interior style is hard to define, as each project requires something different. Various words that spring to mind are luxurious, classic, timeless, modern and with a nod to the past. She enjoys combining beauty and function, and finding the right piece for the right place.
